Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. When my daughter was looking for a local pizza place and named the "pizza, yogurt and gifts" spot, my immediate reaction was that with that name it couldn't be good. There were other Yelpers who assured me that, despite the gift shop and yogurt sidelines, the pizza was great. They were right (as always!). We ordered 2 small and one large pizza for the 5 of us (adults) and that was just enough. We had 1 slice left (we were hungry and stuffed ourselves!). The Jaws was excellent, the Man overboard was another great selection. The crust was thin and light and the toppings were all fresh. We were able to purchase a 12 pack of domestic beer for $18. I wouldn't say the prices were outrageous. I'm not sure they were higher than any gourmet place in CT. I will definitely keep this on the list for when I return next year!

It was our last night in Captiva and we just wanted to relax, watch the Spurs/Heat game, and enjoy an easy meal of pizza and beer. We ordered three different pizzas and they were ready in 15 minutes, which was great. But the pizza itself was not. The dough on all three tasted raw and chewy. It looked like whoever made them really could've cared less. Out of the 6 of us, none of us liked any of the three. We ended up going to the store and buying frozen pizzas and cooking them at the house. Now those were delicious. Wouldn't go back.

Excellent pizza. A bit pricey, but you are on an island... No AC, so expect to sweat. Lol

The pizza has very creative toppings and the service was quick and friendly. The crust could really use some rethinking. If the crust were better this would be an easy 4.

Couldn't believe it. So 5 of us walk in the place on Saturday night at 8:20 and were told that they ran out of dough and were closing. The guy wasn't even nice about it. Sounddd like he justwanted to get home. Maybe he should think twice about being in the hospitality industry. What a lame excuse for a pizza place.

The Jaws pizza was good. Decent thin to medium crust, fresh toppings, and I'm such a sucker for ricotta on pizza!

Wierd to order a pizza in a gift shop. Got the large pizza with mushrooms that was pretty good. The crust was nice. Just wanted a simple dinner. Did not feel like going out. So this is a good option when in Captiva. Walk up to the second floor browse the gifts while you wait for your order. They also have specials. We could have had a veggie sub or meat ball sub for around $6.

We probably wouldn't have ordered if we had known it was in the middle of a gift shop. Glad we didn't know! The pizza turned out to be pretty good. Nice, quick, easy meal when we were tired.

While staying on Captiva we were looking for a local pizza joint. This spot was recommended but it must have changed names or owners or both. The only pizza spot at this address is primarily a take-out place that also sells beer "late night.' The pizza quality was not good and the ambiance was worse. I would just skip pizza until you leave Captiva or can find a different spot.

We picked up 2 pizzas to eat after watching a football game...pizza was quite tasty...got the Jaws...my only change would be to add garlic...I like garlic on everything... Tasty thinner crust pizza...
